When you arrive at a J Day GP there is a $15 parking fee per person. Children 4 and under are free.
You will need a J Day Membership. We offer a one day membership for $25 per day or a yearly membership for $55 per year. A day membership will get you a temporary number for the day and a yearly membership will get you a permanent number for the year.
You will also need a MotoTally Transponder. This is how we score the events and keep track of rider position. A transponder is a one time fee of $20. We do not rent transponders, sorry!
Now that you have paid your gate fee and your “One Time” Membership/Transponder fees, the GP race fee is $55 per class. Pee Wee Classes are $40.

If you have raced in another organization, it is important to race in a class of the same skill level at the J Day GP events. For example, if you race hare scrambles at the Amateur level, you must race J Day events in the appropriate Amateur class. A list of all of the classes and their descriptions can be found in our GP Rulebook. Click Link Below
Yes, as long as the classes are in the same skill level. For example, a rider may not race C 250 and also B 250. An example would be a 43 year old rider on a 450 racing A senior and A Open. He qualifies for both classes and both of the classes happen to be in different heats. Please note, some people will not have this opportunity because of the class and schedule structure.
You do not need two memberships to race two classes. If you are purchasing a membership online and want to add a second class, use the Promo Code “Second” to avoid paying an additional $50.
Please keep in mind if you race two classes in different heats, you will need a particular number that is available in both heats.
Yearly Memberships can be purchased at the track on race day with cash or check only or online by clicking this link >Become a Member< We work through paypal and memberships can be purchased with a credit card, debit card or Paypal account. On race weekends, our Online Membership system closes Friday nights at 8 PM unless there is ALSO a Saturday GP. In that case online registration on Thursday Nights at 8 PM.
Day memberships can only be purchased at the track on race day with cash or check only.
One Membership is good for ALL J Day Off Road Series and events
It is possible that multiple riders have the same racing number provided that they are not in the same racing heat. If riders are in the same heat, they may not use the same number and we do NOT add single letters (X) (Y) (V) to numbers.
We do not have a sound test at our events but do reserve the right to turn away abnormally loud bikes.
We recommend that you cover preexisting numbers if the numbers are different from your J Day numbers. However, if you have temporary stickers on your helmet from another organization, it is mandatory that those are covered or removed so that our scoring crew does not confuse them.
We process memberships on Mondays and Fridays. When your membership is processed you will receive a confirmation email with the first available number you requested. Occasionally the automatic confirmation email gets redirected into your emails SPAM inbox.
There are two ways to register for a J Day GP.
- The first and best way is to register is online. If you are already a J Day Off Road Member, you can sign up online >Pre-Register<
Online event registration opens the Sunday Night prior to the event at 8 PM EST. It Closes the Friday night prior to the event at 8 PM EST unless there is ALSO a Saturday GP. In that case online registration on Thursday Nights at 8 PM.
We recommend signing up online because classes can fill up quickly.
Once you are Pre Registered online you will then need to head to the Pre-Registration line at our registration trailer on race day. You will need your helmet so please bring it. This line is much quicker than the post registration line and is only necessary for a signature, Transponder Inspection and a Minor Release Form if you are under 18 years of age.
- The second way to register for a J Day Event is at the event on race day. Our Registration trailer opens at 6 AM on race day and does not close all day. Your helmet will be needed so please bring it to the registration trailer. We accept cash or check.
Our gates open on race day at 6 AM. We recommend arriving 2 hours prior to your first race. We can not guarantee anything, but this should be enough time to sign in at the front gate, park your vehicle, and register for the race.
Tech Inspection is mandatory. The Tech Inspection Tent is located at the start of each race and you will be required to ride through tech inspection prior to your start. Tech Inspection opens 40 minutes prior to each heat and they will verify that your transponder is working, numbers are correctly placed, and that you have the proper safety equipment.
Camping is allowed at all J Day Off Road Events. Several tracks charge an additional $10 per car load. Camp fires rules are determined by the particular track/facility. The times that gates open and close the day before the event is also decided by the track/facility. These times will always be advertised on the official race flier, which can be found on our website the week before the event.
Unfortunately, we do not have practice at J Day Off Road Events. You can however walk the track before 8 AM on race day or walk the track the day before the event after gates open.
We strongly suggest that you get the appropriate numbers and backgrounds on your bike, but we do NOT require it. Along with our MotoTally Scoring System, we also have several officials keeping track manually. Proper numbers and backgrounds are extremely helpful for this reason. If you do not have the appropriate numbers on your bike, we will supply you with temporary numbers at the Registration Trailer when you sign up.
Each adult/youth racer gets two (30) Minute Motos per day. Pee Wee racers get 1 (40) minute race at 8 AM. The full schedule is listed on the Schedule page.
Dogs on leashes are allowed at all J Day Off Road events.
Our official photographer is Art Pepin and he posts his photos to OffroadPaparazzi.com
We also have several professional photographers at all of our events including Tara Santheson of MotoPhoto29.smugmug.com
While most facilities allow small camp fires, this fluctuates depending on the season. Please always ask the facility upon entering the property. Several facilities only allow “above ground barrel fires” If fires are not allowed at a particular event we will normally advertise this on the official race flier the week before the event. That flier can be found on our website.
Building a J Day GP Track is a lengthy process and we try to post the video when the majority of the trail work is complete. We aim to upload the track preview videos as soon as possible, but usually we post them on our YouTube Page the Thursday or Friday before a Sunday event. Once in a while we will post the video as late as Saturday the day before. We recommend subscribing to our YouTube Channel: JDayOffroadRacing for automatic updates when the video is public.
Absolutely. Everything can be done at the J Day Off Road Registration Trailer with cash or check only. The downfall is that popular classes can and often fill up. We hate to turn people away after traveling to an event, so we always recommend registering online when possible.
Yes you may self promote at any time. Please keep in mind that once you self promote, you may not change your mind and go back down so please make sure you are ready and willing to commit for the season.
A rider may petition to self demote if he or she feel they are no longer capable of racing at their former skill level due to extensive time off from racing, long term injury etc. Riders may not demote mid race season. Requests must be emailed to J Day Off Road.
Once you have been promoted and have raced another series in that new class, you must also bump up at the J Day GP Events. This includes the J Day Sprint Enduro and Hare Scramble Events
Yes you are more than welcome to use that transponder with us. Please bring your helmet and transponder to the registration trailer when you sign up so that we can make sure it properly works with our system.
How old do you have to be to race a J Day Gp?
Our Pee Wee Classes start at 4 years old. We have classes from 4 and up! Please check our rule book to decide what class you fit best Click link below
The majority of facilities allow pit vehicles. Pit vehicles must be ridden in first gear or walking speed. Helmets are required and please no double riding. If a particular track does not allow pit vehicles we will advertise on our official event flier for that particular event. That flier can be found on our website the week before the upcoming event.
We no longer require work credits at The J Day Off Road Events
We do not use volunteers as sweep riders. We do not answer emails or calls requesting to sweep ride the course. Sorry in advance!
We apologize but we no longer issue refunds for pre registrations or move credit to later events. We are very sorry about the inconvenience but due to our 50 rider class caps, riders have been abusing the pre registration system and we can no longer offer refunds.
Post day registrations are still refundable.
We bring all of the unclaimed awards to the next 2 races following that event. They can be picked up at the Registration Trailer
All Members are allotted (2) throw away race per GP Season. The riders lowest finish including DNS or DNF is automatically dropped from the point standings at the end of the season. Pee Wee and Youth riders are allotted (2) throw away races.
